Prime Minister has announced on new year eve to give 6,000 Rupees to pregnant women under Pradhan Mantri Matritva Suraksha Abhiyan. Under this scheme every pregnant women of the country will be benefited by the central government. The clause has been registered under National Food Security Act. Central government will provide an assistance amount to every pregnant mothers under Indira Gandhi Pradhan Mantri Matritva Suraksha Abhiyan.
According to Registrar General Data of India, there are 2.9 crore pregnant women in the country per year. This means if the government will provide the financial assistance to pregnant then it will cost of Rs. 16000 crore. The government has allocated Rs. 400 crore for Pradhan Mantri Matritva Suraksha Abhiyan at present.
The central government will provide assistance amount only to those pregnant women who are over 19 years of age under Pradhan Mantri Matritva Suraksha Abhiyan. The pregnant women who don’t have more than 2 children will get the benefits under scheme.
Narendra Modi has also announced that the pregnant women will also be admitted in hospital and also get her fully immunized to get the cash under Pradhan Mantri Matritva Suraksha Abhiyan. According to Janani Suraksha Yojana 19.7% pregnant women has received doctors service and only 40% pregnant women delivered in hospitals across the country.
The government wants to provide doctors service to every pregnant women under Pradhan Mantri Matritva Suraksha Abhiyan. Government will also promise to provide 6,000 Rupees to every pregnant mother under the scheme.
