Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana Barnala has been started, Under the scheme the government has decided to distribute free LPG connections to the poor families of the district. The government will distribute 21,912 LPG connections to poor families which comes under the Below Poverty Line (BPL).
Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) has launched by Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India with the aim to provide the free Gas Connections to the BPL women. The women who have used poisonous fuel for the cooking like dung cakes, wood, kerosene etc government will provide them free gas connections Under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Barnala.
The aim of Pradhan Ujjwala Yojana Barnala is to provide the smoke free environment to the women of the district for cooking. The BPL women who have no gas connections and use smoking methods for cooking they will get the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Barnala.
The central government will distribute gas connections and gas pipes and state government of Punjab will provide stove to the beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Barnala.
District DC, Bhupinder Singh Roy said that 1 crore families have leave their subsidy on Prime Minister’s request. The government has decided they will distribute free LPG connections from this subsidy money to poor families.
PMUY scheme will be provided free gas connections to BPL families and poor families. The government wants to provide smoke free environment to women for cooking. Government provide free gas connections to Blue card holder under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Barnala.
