The survey of the wards under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Kerala has been completed. The required documents of the beneficiaries of PM Awas Yojana have been collected from the eligible people. The verification of the land for the houses is being conducted.

The state government of Kerala will be able to submit the DPR by this month, after completion of the related literature under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Kerala. Later the state government has to prepare a plan of action on the total number of applicants and on the process of providing them all houses by the deadline of 2022.

Out of 16000 beneficiaries many documents were found to not have proper documents, especially those who proved the ownership of the land on which the house is to be built. The beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Kerala are required to have bank account number and Aadhar Card number.

The funds under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Kerala will be provided in four installments, with disbursals of 10 per cent, 40 per cent, 40 per cent and 10 per cent, over a period of one year, during which the construction has to be completed.

Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Kerala each beneficiary will get the fund of Rs. 2.5 Lakh, to which the beneficiary contribution of Rs. 50000 is added. With the Kerala government’s announcement of its massive housing campaign, LIFE (livelihood, inclusion, financial empowerment), to build houses for 2 lakh families without land or housing in the next five years, expectations are that it could be augmented to the existing Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Kerala and increase the fund available for each beneficiary.
